BIO

Maria Bouquet is an Argentinean artist based in Buenos Aires. She studied at the School of Fine Arts in Buenos Aires and later earned her Master of Fine Arts with honors from Pratt Institute in New York. During her time at Pratt, Maria was also part of the Provost Office’s team, working to foster an inclusive and vibrant academic environment that empowered both students and faculty.

Maria’s artistic practice spans light art and textile painting. Her work is deeply informed by her participation in critical workshops with renowned artists such as Louise Bourgeois in New York and Carlos Gorriarena in Buenos Aires, experiences that helped shape her creative voice.

Her work has been exhibited internationally at major art fairs and galleries, including Art Basel Miami, AAF Contemporary Art Fair New York, The Other Art Fair by Saatchi Art, Context Art Fair Miami, Dumbo in New York, and more. She has also exhibited at institutions such as the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, Transformer Gallery, Katzen Arts Center, Watergate Gallery in Washington D.C., Longwood Art Gallery in New York, BG Gallery in Los Angeles, John William Gallery in Miami, Concepto Art Gallery in Brooklyn, The Cello Factory Gallery in London, the Museum of Contemporary Art Del Marco, and Cecilia Caballero Gallery in Buenos Aires.

Maria continues to explore the intersections of light, color, and space, creating work that invites viewers to pause, reflect, and engage with their own perceptions.
